VISIT Summit 2026 in Gothenburg

DESTINED FOR MORE.

NOW GO AND BE IT.

For three days in September, 400+ of us from across Nordic hospitality, experiences and destinations gathered at Jacy'z Hotel & Resort. We came to learn what is changing in how guests find, book and remember a stay. Here is what we took home.

Three days, one idea

We came to talk about guests, bookings and what AI is doing to both. We did. But the idea that ran through all three days was the one we launched on stage as VISIT’s new brand: destined for more. For our guests, for our businesses and for the industry we share. And first of all, for each of us.

Destined for more, starting with me

At VISIT Summit we like to challenge our community a little. Over the years we have asked ourselves whether we dare to be the monkey in the room, settled it with a monkey war, and shared drinks at a pool club in bathrobes.

This year we went further. If we are all destined for more, that reaches beyond our businesses to who we are as leaders, colleagues, friends and family.

So on Monday evening, together with Nets by Nexi, we gathered at Universeum with executive coach Rino Wennerholm. We paired up with someone we had never met and looked each other in the eye for a full minute, in silence. It was powerful, and uncomfortable, which is rather the point. Then we shared what has shaped us most and answered one question: what would it mean if you were to be more you? The barriers came down that evening and stayed down for the rest of the Summit.

What we learned

Eight insights to take home from Gothenburg

Twenty-six sessions ran across four rooms, and none of us could be in all of them. So we listened back to every recording and read every deck we could find. These are the threads that ran through our three days together, including the moments where we disagreed.

“On topic and in line with the changes and challenges we are facing in the industry, especially on the tech front.” (Attendee, VISIT Summit 2026)

This years winners of VISIT Awards

Collaborator of the Year

Destination Gotland

"Twenty years of partnership, and still curious. Destination Gotland and Gotland Promotion have spent them opening doors, bringing VISIT's technology to hotels, activity companies and small operators across the island who now reach guests they could not have reached alone. Around 200 local suppliers sell through their platform today.

They also chose not to settle for selling a crossing. Ferry, accommodation, activity and event arrive as one journey, so guests book Gotland rather than a series of separate things. It reflects a long-held belief that the island does better when everyone on it does better."

Innovator of the Year

Brim Explorer

"Brim Explorer built its own ships because the ones it wanted did not exist. Five of them now, electric and hybrid, quiet enough that wildlife is met rather than chased. Silence turned out to be the luxury. Guests hear the water, the birds and the guide, and remember it long after the trip home. Two fully electric vessels arrive in 2027, with the rest of the fleet set to follow by 2030. Brim Explorer is not waiting for the industry to catch up."

Impact Award

Kosta Boda Art Hotel

"In a region where the glass industry has contracted for decades, Kosta Boda Art Hotel has become an anchor. Glass art by renowned designers fills every space, giving working artists and craftspeople a stage and a livelihood. As part of Destination Kosta, it draws visitors year-round rather than for a short season, which turns tourism into steady local employment instead of a summer spike. A hotel that gives more to its community than it takes from it."

Liseberg Hotel Curiosa

"Awarded to the Stay with the highest Traveller Experience Score (TES), based on guest data collected over a full year from 60+ sources, combining ratings and reviews."
